About Saras Veg Food

Saras Veg Food is an all vegetarian restaurant in Bangkok that focuses on creating delicious Indian dishes that are 100% meat free. Although this restaurant isn't exclusively vegan, they do offer a lot of vegan dishes on their menu as well as in their bakery for Indian sweets. Saras Veg Food is a sit down restaurant with plenty of indoor seating and offers everything from masala tea and rasam rice to thali and kathi rolls. VEGAN is clearly marked on the menu with a green dot next to the dish which makes it very easy to order here. When I asked about the vegan dessert items in the display case, the staff were very knowledgeable and spoke great English, and showed me which desserts were actually vegan which I appreciated (very honest and friendly). Make sure to check this place out for lunch and dinner, great spot to bring the whole family!

Awesome Thali! Super authentic vegan indian food in Bangkok

Came to sara Veg Food for some vegan indian food and was happy to see that Vegan items are clearly marked with a little green dot. I ordered the Northern Indian vegan thali (can be made vegan upon request) and it was huge! It came with rice in the middle and about six vegetable dishes like curries, and dahl, and soup and also naan (made from whole wheat flour) and papadam (deep fried crispy cracker that you can break off and eat). Overall the dishes were really tasty, a bit on the heavy side for me (maybe it was a bit more oil than I normally eat ) but it tasted good if you like that sort of thing. It's a self-service spot so you order and pay ahead of time at the counter and then sit down. Thali came with a little free water bottle which was cool, not sure why they let me order a huge water bottle as well LOL . Extra rice cost 70 baht more (didn't know that) but you can get free re-fills on the little curry bowls that come in your Thali (which is a great deal). In my opinion, this is authentic indian food and is highly recommended if you are looking for good vegan indian food in Bangkok. They also have vegan dosa, vegan idly, chinese/thai dishes, vegan South Indian rice and veggie dishes like chana masala, as well as plant-based desserts in their display case. There is egg/dairy served here but no meat (since it's an all vegetarian joint)
