I felt like I walked into a forest when I first came up the stairs. The interior is decorated with vines and branches and tiny candle lights. It’s a charming place. I think this is one of the few vegan restaurants I really enjoyed. This restaurant stands out because they truly exemplify the flavors and essence of vegetables instead of manipulating vegetables to taste like meat. Honestly, I enjoyed every dish I ordered here. Scorch cauliflower: 10/10 the cauliflower was somehow both tender and crispy. The sauce that was drizzled on top of it was super flavorful and elevated the whole dish. Brussels sprouts: 10/10 classic they were super good; with a really nice balsamic vinaigrette/glaze Mushroom toast: 8/10 this was a fun one because it was interesting to see sliced grapes on mushroom toast. The flavors surprisingly complement each other well and it has a refreshing finish. Risotto: 8/10 super flavorful, and I appreciate the variety of mushrooms that were in the dish. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would come back for the scorched cauliflower.

One of the absolute best restaurants in NYC (which happens to be all vegan). Great selection of dishes and everything we ate was great. The drinks could be slightly better though. The best dishes were the tomato soup, the toast with fig and the paella. Definitely recommend going with a group of more than 4 so you can try more dishes.

This was such a great dinner for a night out. Visited for a Christmas gift & it did not disappoint! The food was not only visually stunning but sooo tasty. Our favorites were the mushroom toast, carbonara, and cauliflower however, everything we ordered was top notch. We were a group of 2 so they staggered each dish, which made it much less overwhelming and easy to keep enjoying the food at a normal pace. I would recommend for vegans and non vegans because the food is just so darn good!!! Hope to be back here soon

Avant Garden is easily one of my favorite restaurants in New York! The food is absolutely delicious - from the fresh salads and toasts to the cauliflower and the incredible carbonara pasta. And don’t forget to try the almond cake for dessert! Their wine collection is also impressive; I had the chance to enjoy wines from both California and Greece. The service was exceptional, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who make great recommendations based on your taste. The ambiance is perfect, whether you’re on a date, having a solo dinner, or catching up with friends. I especially love their ‘dinner for one’ menu - a fantastic idea! I highly recommend talking to the waitstaff for personalized suggestions or trying the solo menu. Avant Garden is a must-visit in NYC, with a great location and an unforgettable dining experience!

As a non-vegan person, this place was REALLY GOOD. My husband’s cousin came to visit us from overseas and she has very specific dietary allergies that essentially only make foods that are gluten-free and dairy-free/vegan safe. We found this place as recommended on a Reddit thread and I was amazed. The ambiance was fantastic and the service was so wonderful. We started off with the cremini mushroom toast and the artichoke toast. Both were incredible. I would come back just for these babies! We ordered an assortment of entrees: roasted carrot, risotto, spaghetti, and the celery root pasta. The portions were pretty generous. My husband’s favourite was the risotto - he says it’s the best risotto he’s ever had (keeping in mind that we’re not vegan, so that really says something)! My favourite was the spaghetti. It sounded boring but the waitress raved about how creamy their carbonara sauce is despite it being vegan so I had to try it. It was indeed creamy without feeling heavy and the smoked mushrooms were just divine! I wasn’t a huge fan of the celery root pasta, but the rest of the dishes more than made up for it. For dessert we shared the lava cake. I would definitely recommend coming here! Our cousin says it’s the best food she’s had since she was diagnosed with all her dietary restrictions!
