First time visiting Backwater. We waiting about 10 min to get a table and the place was busy. We got a table towards the back where we could admire the decor; super cool tin ceilings and lamps. The waitress was super nice and the food came out fairly quickly. My husband had the watermelon mint mimosa and it was amazing. The fresh squeezed orange juice was wonderful. My breakfast brought great portions and the bacon was nice and thick, well cooked and home fries were great! We tried the red velvet pancake and the icing really gave it a great taste. I would highly recommend Backwater for the great atmosphere, the food and the service. Thank you! 🙏🏽

Best breakfast we have had yet in the Melbourne area! The food and service are amazing! It has a very comfortable, southern comfort vibe. My wife loved, loved, loved the cheese grits, and her Mexicali omelet. My Denver omelet was delicious and perfectly cooked. We are so impressed! For sure this is our go to breakfast restaurant now!

I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic the food is. The French toast is the best I've ever had, and the breakfast sandwich was delicious. For breakfast, the home fries are a must-try. Backwater also offers seating where you can make your pancakes, which is a unique touch for a restaurant. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was enjoyable.

Just to preface, I relocated from NC, so when I saw this restaurant, it was immediately on my bucket list for restaurants to visit in Melbourne! I love Eggs Benedict, and this place does it justice! The pulled pork Benedict is my favorite and my fiance is a big fan of the pancakes and french toast! My first time having fried gator and the sauce that went with it was 👍 Great drinks too! Best place to get brunch in town!

Best southern comfort food. You can get fried gator on grits, and a fried green tomato benedict! Sat at the bar and watched Dean the Machine flip countless eggs and fluffy pancakes. Jasmine and Brenna were wonderful servers, and kept our coffee cups full. 11/10, will return.
