Busboys and Poets is not your avg dining spot. Part bookstore, part restaurant, and part entertainment make for a unique atmosphere to be a part of. You enter into a bookstore that quickly transforms into table, booth, and couch seating that would be suitable for reading a good novel or having a stack of pancakes. Further in the back where we sat, there is a stage and audio equipment. The host and waiter were very friendly. The service was fast. I do feel that the food could use a little more seasoning though. My table had the chicken chorizo and egg wrap with hot cheese grits, a stank of pancakes, potatoes, and a scrambled egg. The grits were the best. The wrap was good. The pancakes were thick. There's no way one person can eat a stack of three. They lacked any flavor though. The host came through near the end to see how everything was. If you would like a unique place to try, I recommend this place others. If I had time I would come back and try dinner.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience. The food and service were top notch! The sweet spice latte was one of the best lattes I’ve ever had and the fried catfish was fried to perfection. Also, do yourself a favor and get the sweet potato pancake. It was too good to get a picture of it. 10/10!

A place brimming with ideas, creativity, and a spirit of democracy. Simply sitting and eating there makes you feel smarter and more cultured! I love that they have a cozy bookstore section as well. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is reasonably priced with generous portions.

Bussboys & Poets is a phenomenal choice when looking for good solid food. I ordered the Oaxaca Omelet and it was perfection! I've never had a better omelet. The server was delightful, I wish I remembered their name. It seems like everyone who worked there was happy to be there. Atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in DC.

Ate at @BusboysandPoets in Washington DC and the food was phenomenal! Vegan options available. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. There’s an amazing selection of books and they have a lot of art, poetry, and live events going on throughout the week. I was lucky enough to be there during happy hour where you have discounts on drinks and food. The burger was delicious with an excellent quality of meat paddy and the firecracker shrimp… fire-crackling! If you find yourself in the area, it’s definitely worth a meal here!!!
