Fact is, I used to go to the old Hare Krishna temple that was located in Flinders Lane back in the days (long ago) when they served food at lunch times and only accepted donations, then they moved down to Swanston St and started charging but a very small fee for an all you can eat set menu. Well, today, I went past as I have done many times but have not provided a review (silly me), so I took it upon myself to review it as this place deserves. Located in the heart of Melbourne's busy Swanston Street, Crossways Restaurant, offers deliciously prepared all you can eat set vegetarian menu. This is the only place in Melbourne offering a healthy all you can eat vegetarian set menu at an affordable price that has made Crossways Restaurant very popular with people from all walks of life walking in to share in the experience. Definitely a must place to visit for everyone who loves healthy and tasty vegetarian food. Highly recommended.

Hands down, this is one of the best and most affordable Indian vegetarian spots in town! Not only are you served delicious mains, but they also include Havala and Lassi—a full spread of authentic Indian flavors. It’s incredible value for money! What makes it even better is that the price you pay is NET—no additional surcharges—and every penny goes directly to charity, as it’s a non-profit. Knowing that you’re enjoying healthy, affordable food while contributing to a good cause is an unbeatable combination. Oh, and did you know? If you’re still hungry, you can even ask for more portions. How awesome is that?

Great food for HUGELY CHEAP price! I would be surprised in finding a cheaper place in the CBD! $9.50 and you can have more than just one dish (if you manage to eat your first one, since the quantities are very generous!). Kind and smiley staff!

Crossways is the best! All you can eat vegetarian/vegan Indian food for $9.50 or $7.50 if you’re a student. I’m not sure if you’ll find a cheaper place to eat in all of Melbourne. The devout Krishna followers are super kind and friendly and are more than happy to fill your plate up again if you’re still hungry after the giant portion they give you. The papadum is so good and every meal I’ve had there has been incredible. I’m not sure why more people aren’t eating here when I’m there… it’s fantastic!

I went yesterday and took my parents along since they wanted a pure vegetarian restaurant. I chose a “not-so-hungry” meal combo, but it was poorly served. The rice, two curries, and two salads were all piled on top of each other, making it impossible to savor anything individually. Quite a disappointing choice if you’re Indian and expecting authentic delicacies.
