Madre has very good Mexican food, especially the green beans, tacos and dessert is amazing. Having said that, we have been here twice and had the shared menu for two (the larger one). Within just five months, the experience changed noticeably. The portion sizes are considerably smaller, and you're given one dish less. The hefty price tag is not reflected in the food you receive. I also would like to note long waiting times between dishes, at both visits we started eating the dessert more than 2.5 hours after entering the restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant is nice, but it is very loud. You can barely hear the music, or hear the other person talking. When full, it feels a little cramped. I did note this to restaurant staff today, and they did give us a free Salsa to take home to make up for the long waiting times, which I really appreciate.

It was a good Mexican cuisine experience with vegan content. We tried ‘the chef’s choice.’ Everything was fine, though one of the tacos wasn’t to my taste. The waitstaff was very helpful and explained the menu clearly. The Michelada tasted a bit like gazpacho, but it wasn’t bad:) The back side of Madre has a nice atmosphere, but I will definitely come again for the bar side, which looks really cozy

They've redefined vegan Mexican cuisine here! The star dish? Their jaw-dropping 3D Printed Beef Taco - a vegan marvel! The cauliflower wings, though, were a bit too much, quite filling. But don't miss out on this innovative twist on Mexican flavors in the heart of Amsterdam!

I went there without realizing it was a vegan place and only figured it out by the second or third course. But I have to admit, the food was absolutely stunning. We ordered "The Full Madre Experience," which included three starters, three main courses, and two desserts. The dishes were fantastic, though I have to say I didn’t feel completely full afterward. It would have been great if they had included the tortilla chips and freshly-made guacamole in the set, especially since they prepare it right at your table, which looked pretty impressive. Overall, the price was fair, but I did leave a bit hungry. Still, the quality of the food made it worth trying. The only downside was being charged 9€ for a Heineken, which was surprising. Service was friendly and fast, but be sure to reserve a table in advance as it gets busy.
